Liam Kavanagh (FCCA) has been appointed managing director of The Irish Times Limited with immediate effect. He succeeds Maeve Donovan, who recently retired.
He joined the company in 2000 as chief financial officer. He was appointed to the board of The Irish Times Ltd in 2001 as finance director and company secretary. He has held the position of deputy managing director since 2006.
Prior to joining The Irish Times Ltd, he worked with KPMG and the Jefferson Smurfit Group, where he was finance director for Smurfit Ireland.
From Dublin, he is married to Breda Collins and they have three children. He is a council member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
