Two Irish nationals have died following a head-on collision in the southern Australian state of Victoria.
The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the dead men were Adrian Freeman, from Tooreen in Co Mayo, and Robbie Twomey, from Co Kerry. It is understood the men died at the scene.
Two other Irish nationals, also in their mid-20s, were briefly hospitalised. They were released after receiving treatment.
The men were in a Toyota Camry which was struck by a Volvo travelling towards Barwon Heads on the Barwon Heads Road. The female driver of the Volvo remains in hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.
The crash happened yesterday at 2.40pm on the Barwon Heads Road in Geelong. It is understood the men were en route to a GAA game when the crash occurred.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to the families of the dead men.
