IRISH LIFE sales managers have voted to accept a restructuring package that will mean 23 of the 67 people involved accepting redeployment back into the general sales force, writes Padraig Yeates, Industry and Employment Correspondent.

The decision came after nine hours of debate with their union negotiators in Portlaoise on Tuesday. The union, Manufacturing, Science and Finance (MSF), will now be entering new negotiations with the company on other aspects of the restructuring deal.

Meanwhile MSF and Irish Life negotiators are to meet at the Labour Relations Commission tomorrow to discuss restructuring proposals for personal finance advisers.
