The seasonally adjusted volume of Irish industrial production for the three months ended August 2004 was down 1.6 per cent on that for the previous three months, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The year on year decrease for August 2004 was 12.6 per cent.
The industrial production index monitors trends in the volume of production of local units with three or more persons engaged.
The indices released by the CSO today are an early global estimate of the overall volume of production of these local units.
