Works by Irish playwrights Conor McPherson, Marina Carr and Brian Friel are among the plays which will be staged as part of the 51st West Cork Drama Festival.
More than 10 drama societies from Kildare, Wexford, Waterford and Cork will take part in the amateur dramatic festival running over 11 days at St Mary’s Theatre, Rossmore, west Cork.
The festival opens tonight with a production of Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasaby Conna Dramatic Society, Cork. Other highlights include a production of Martin McDonagh's Girleenby the Ennis Players and a production of Conor McPherson's The Weirby the Kilmeen Drama Group of Rossmore, Co Cork.
Works by international playwrights Arthur Miller, Henrik Ibsen and Harold Pinter are among the other plays which will be performed during the festival.
