Irish technology firms on a trade mission to Silicon Valley in the United States have secured contracts worth €29 million, it was claimed.
The nine companies spent the last three days in Texas and California promoting links between the two countries and the research and development sector.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin said: "Investment relations between the US and Ireland had entered a new era, marked by a dynamic two-way investment flow."
In the last 12 months, Irish companies have opened 47 offices in the United States, and they now employ more than 80,000 people.
