Healthcare technology company Lincor Solutions has won the contract to install an innovative entertainment and health information system in the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), Ontario, Canada.

The MediVista healthcare solution will provide bedside entertainment services for patients as well as point of care access to clinical data for medics.

The touch-screen system will give patient’s access to TV, radio, telephone, internet, e-mail, video-on-demand and information services, and can also be used for patient education through video and surveys, dietary management and access to audio books.

The contract was announced by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Mary Coughlan TD, during Enterprise Ireland’s trade mission to Canada. The trade mission involves 35 companies from sectors including software, telecoms and financial services, which are all aiming to grow their exports and extend their trade links with Canada.

Ms Coughlan said the Irish company was an international success story with solutions installed at over 14,000 hospital beds in some 60 hospitals worldwide.

"This new contract is a further step in the company’s impressive export growth that will help them bolster their already successful Irish operation," she added.

Speaking to The Irish Timestoday, a spokesman for the company said "this is the first phase, we're doing 300 beds at the hospital, but we're hoping to get the rest as well". The hospital has 1100 beds in total, he added.

Lincor secured the LHSC contract along with its Canadian technology partner Carillion IT, a subsidiary of Carillion Canada. The initial phase of the multi-million euro contract involves the provision of the healthcare solution for 300 beds on LHSC campus.
