Ireland’s exports to non-EU countries fell to £2,167 million in July 2001 from the June value of £2,475 million after seasonal adjustments, according to the Central Statistics Office.
Imports also marginally increased to £1,284 million from £1,243 million in June
The unadjusted exports to non-EU countries were valued at £2,345 million in July 2001, 17 per cent higher than the £2,006 million recorded in July 2000 while imports were valued at £1,227 million in July 2001, 19 per cent lower than the £1,509 million recorded in July 2000.
A comparison between January-July 2001 with the corresponding period in 2000 shows
- Exports increased overall from £12,830m to £16,233m ( up 26 per cent).
This included an increase in exports to the USA from £5,758m to £7,471m (+30 per cent), while exports to Japan increased from £1,365m to £1,533m (+12 per cent). Exports to Egypt decreased from £121m to £67m (-44 per cent).
