Ferry operator Irish Continental Group said today performance is in line with expectations and that it expects this trend to continue into the second half of the year.
At today's AGM, chairman Mr Tom Toner said so far this year, Irish Ferries has recorded a 14 per cent increase in volume in the overall car market into Ireland. This is "a strong rebound" from the foot and mouth difficulties of last year," he said.
Irish Ferries recorded an 18 per cent rise in car carryings and forward bookings remain ahead of last year, he said.
In the roll-on roll-off freight market, Irish Ferries has achieved three per cent growth in the market into the Republic this year.
