Irish Cement yesterday applied to the High Court for leave to seek orders quashing the granting of planning permission for construction of a £3 million cement storage warehouse at Dublin docks.
Last March, An Bord Pleanala granted planning permission to Dorinav SARL, a French-registered cement importer, for development of a 2,310 square metre bulk storage warehouse and ancillary facilities at Dublin Port, South Bank Quay, Pigeon House Road, Dublin.
Irish Cement was among several parties who objected to the development at an oral hearing convened by the board.ala. In court yesterday, Ms Fidelma Macken SC, for Irish Cement, applied for leave to seek orders, by way of judicial review, quashing the granting of the permission.
Counsel said the issue of traffic was considered in detail at the board's oral hearing relating to the proposed development and a traffic management plan was submitted for Dorinav.
