Ireland’s oldest person has died at the age of 107.
Annie Kett, who died at Thorpe's Nursing home in Clarina, Co Limerick on Sunday evening, had the title of Ireland's oldest citizen for just over a month.
Mrs Kett, formerly Annie Hayes, was born in 1905 in The Glen, Killaloe, in Co Clare. She moved to London in the 1920s to train as a nurse, before moving back to Ireland to begin farming with her husband, John, who died in the 70s.
Celebrations for Ms Kett's 107th birthday took place in the nursing home in December.
Mrs Kett is survived by her daughter, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her funeral will take place on Thursday.
Mrs Kett became Ireland's oldest woman following the death of 108-year-old Mary Kate Byrne in December 2012.
