Ireland slumped to a three nil defeat against the fourth seeds Canada and failed to make it into the last eight of the Men’s World Squash Championships in Melbourne today.
In the top match Canada’s world number two, Jonathan Power found it tough going against Derek Ryan but eventually succeeded 9-7, (1-9), 9-7, (2-9), 9-4.
The top seeds Australia cruised through 3-0 against Sweden, although Paul Price did drop his side's first game of the tournament before winning the second-string match 9-2, 9-3, (4-9), 9-3 against Christian Drakenberg.
But the world number one David Palmer and Stewart Boswell both won in straight games.
