Ireland.com editor wins top Internet award

The editor of ireland.com, Ms Deirdre Veldon, has won the Irish Internet Association (IIA) Net Visionary award at a ceremony in Dublin today.

The award was given in recognition of the contribution she has made to the Irish Internet industry since she joined the website in February of 1996.

Other winners included Irish Times tech journalist Ms Karlin Lillington, who won the IIA Journalist award. The IIA Innovation award went to Mr Michael Dwyer of Pigsback.com.

Ms Darerca Egan of Focus Ireland won the Social Inclusion award, and Mr Oliver Ryan of Reach won the eGovernment award.
