Top chipmaker Intel Corp posted second-quarter revenue above expectations, defying investors' concerns about slowing personal computer sales.
Intel's revenue in the June quarter was $13.1 billion, up 22 per cent over the year-ago period and and above the $12.83 billion expected by analysts, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Non-GAAP net income in the quarter was $3.2 billion, up 10 per cent. Non-GAAP earnings per share were 59 cents.
Shares of Intel rose 1.65 percent to $23.37 in extended trade after closing down 0.3 per cent.
