GARDAI in west Cork are continuing their investigation into the death last Sunday of an elderly woman in the Dunmanway area.
The body of Mrs Ellen O'Regan (70) was discovered in an upstairs bedroom of their burnt out two storey house at Coole Mountain by her husband. Mr Michael O'Regan (70) is in comfortable condition suffering from shock in Bantry General Hospital.
Supt John Flynn, of Clonakilty, said yesterday it would be some time before the results of a forensic examination were available. The Garda authorities wished to establish beyond doubt that the fire was started accidentally.
