Champion jockey Kieren Fallon has delayed his return to the saddle and now plans to be back on Friday following his crashing fall earlier in the week.
The six-times title holder had hoped to be back in action at Lingfield today but has opted to give himself further time to recuperate.
"It was a nasty fall and I am still feeling very sore. I won't be back tomorrow and the plan is to come back at Newmarket on Friday," the rider told Teletext, for whom he provides a regular weekly column.
Fallon was released from Leicester Royal Infirmary on Monday evening, having narrowly escaped serious injury when he took a crashing fall from Maritima in the second division of the EBF Hare Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
