Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid left a hearing with parliamentarians investigating two financial scandals on today after only 30 minutes.

Wahid had been expected to answer questions from a 50-member team over the scandals that could lead to impeachment proceedings if legislators find evidence of wrongdoing against him. Wahid has denied any wrongdoing.

The witnesses said Wahid, who has previously expressed irritation over the probe, left through a side door at the Jakarta convention centre where the hearing took place.
