Tourist bus crash kills nine in Egypt
ISMAILIA -Nine people were killed and 28 injured when a bus carrying Canadian and European tourists overturned and caught fire in Egypt's Sinai peninsula yesterday, official sources said.
The state news agency, Mena, said the injured included 14 Russians, three Ukrainians, two Canadians, two Italians and two Egyptian policemen. - (Reuters)
Suicide bombers kill 30 in Iraq
BAGHDAD- Two suicide bombers killed 30 people and wounded 65 others when they detonated explosive vests in a busy market in a town northeast of
Baghdad yesterday, Iraqi police said.
Police said the second bomber struck as crowds rushed to evacuate the wounded from the first attack, a common tactic used by bombers to maximise casualties. - (Reuters)
Prostitution ring head found dead
FLORIDA- A woman convicted of running a prostitution ring catering to Washington's elite apparently died by suicide at her mother's home in Florida yesterday, police said.
Police in the Gulf Coast town of Tarpon Springs said they found the body of a woman they believe to be Deborah Jeane Palfrey.
She was found guilty last month of running an escort service that earned her at least $2 million (€1.29 million). - (Reuters)

JERUSALEM- Israeli police will question prime minister Ehud Olmert under caution on suspicion of corruption, a legal source said yesterday.

Dock workers in anti-war protest
SAN FRANCISCO- About 10,000 dock workers who handle cargo along the west coast of the US stayed away from work yesterday in a one-day protest against the war in Iraq, according to union officials.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union reported that traffic had virtually come to a halt across the region's ports, including the largest ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach.
Oakland, Seattle and other ports between the Canadian and Mexican borders were also affected. - (Reuters)

Ex-Guantánamo inmate in bombing
DUBAI- A Kuwaiti man released from the US prison in Guantánamo Bay in 2005 has carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq, his cousin told Al-Arabiya television yesterday.
A friend of Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi in Iraq informed his family that Saleh al-Ajmi carried out an attack in Mosul, his cousin Salem told the Dubai-based channel. - (Reuters)
