Heroin worth €1m seized in Dublin home
Gardaí seized heroin with a street value of about €1 million in a raid on a family home in west Dublin two days ago.
Two men and a woman are still being questioned following the raid on the house at Westbourne Green, Ballyfermot, at about 10pm on Tuesday.
Some 5kg of heroin and a quantity of cash were seized. The three who were arrested can be detained for up to a week.
Two charged over UDA murder
Two men were last night charged with murdering a UDA man during a feud between loyalist groups in Northern Ireland.
Tommy English (39), was shot dead in front of his wife at his home in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim in October 2000.
The co-accused, aged 34 and 38, were arrested following an investigation by the PSNI's historical inquiries team.
The pair, who are also charged with membership of a proscribed organisation, will appear in court in Belfast this morning. - (PA)
Father's death investigated
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has confirmed it is investigating the circumstances around the death of a father-of-four at a sawmill yard.
It is understood that Noel O'Reilly (51) died instantly shortly after 10am yesterday when a digger that was loading timber chips collapsed on him at his work yard at Caher, five miles from the east Clare village of Scariff.
Help sought on missing girl
Gardaí are seeking public assistance in finding a 16-year-old girl who went missing last week.
Kate Williams was last seen on Thursday afternoon on Sherrard Street Upper in Dublin 1 at about 3.30pm.
She is described as being black and of Nigerian origin, 5'4" in height, and of medium build with medium length black hair.
She was wearing dark jeans and a white and blue polka dot top when last seen.
