Councillor quits FF to run as Independent
A town councillor in Edenderry, Co Offaly, has quit Fianna Fáil and announced he will be running as an Independent in the forthcoming local elections to both Edenderry Town Council and Offaly County Council.
Noel Cribbin, a town councillor for 10 years, had failed to win a nomination for the party for membership of Offaly County Council. He said the decision was “not taken lightly” as he had been a member of Fianna Fáil all his life. He is arguing the party should put forward three candidates from Edenderry town.
There is considerable unrest in the local organisation that only four candidates are being put forward for six seats.

EAPPI is an international programme of the World Council of Churches that has been operating in the West Bank since 2003.
