Cleese finalises $13m divorce settlement
LONDON – British comedian John Cleese has finalised the terms of his divorce from third wife, Alyce Eichelberger, with a judge expected to sign papers lodged with the Santa Barbara Superior Court in California last week.
Cleeses London spokesman said the terms of the divorce meant that Ms Eichelberger, whom the 69-year-old married in 1992, would receive assets worth $13 million and alimony of $1 million a year for the next seven years. – (Reuters)
Russia expels Czech diplomats
MOSCOW – Russia has ordered two Czech diplomats out of Russia, Interfax reported yesterday, in a spying row between two countries at odds over US plans for an anti-missile system in Europe.
The expulsion follows Czech media reports on Monday that two Russians ha been ordered out of Prague. – (Reuters)
Mousavi backs abuse allegations
TEHRAN – Iranian opposition leader Mirhossein Mousavi has accused “establishment agents” of raping and abusing detainees imprisoned after Irans disputed June 12th presidential election, a reformist website reported yesterday. – (Reuters)
Corruption charge in Bulgaria
Prosecutors have charged one of Bulgarias richest men, Hristo Kovachki, with tax evasion, a prosecutor said yesterday.
