Gardaí investigate Tullamore shooting

Gardaí investigating a gun attack on a house in Tullamore have not ruled out a possible link between the shooting and a number of recent gun attacks in the town.

The house was attacked at about 1.30am yesterday when a shot was discharged from a shotgun at the front door of the home at Hophill in Tullamore. No one was injured in the shooting.

Supt Fergus Dwyer of Tullamore Garda station said “one witness said they saw a small white or silver car leaving the estate. After that car left the estate, a few seconds later, a taxi left the estate and we would be anxious to talk to the driver or any occupants of the taxi.”
