Murder inquiry under way after man's body found in Armagh
A murder investigation is under way after the body of a 32-year-old man was found in the Castle Street area of Armagh city at about noon yesterday, writes Gerry Moriarty.
A postmortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death. His body was discovered in an apartment in the city.
Sinn Féin Assembly member for Newry and Armagh Cathal Boylan said the local community was shocked at the revelation that the death was being treated as murder.
“In a relatively small city such as Armagh, such a death has a very profound affect,” Mr Boylan said. “I would appeal for anyone with any information as to what happened to this gentleman, no matter how small or irrelevant they think it may be, to pass that information on to the investigating team.”
