Web company to create 20 jobs at Kerry Technology Park
Twenty high-end jobs are to be created at web company Aspen Grove, a technology company based at Kerry Technology Park which has links to the Institute of Technology, Tralee, writes Anne Lucey.
Shannon Development, which has invested heavily in the park, welcomed the news, saying the technology park with 300 employees across 17 internet and telecommunications companies continued to “punch above its weight”.
Earlier this year Aspen Grove filled 15 positions. It provides web-based applications for real estate agents and property owners, including banks, investors, hedge funds and credit unions.
Charity cycle to honour two gardaí
TWO young gardaí killed in the line of duty last year are to be remembered in a charity cycle. The 600km cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head is being undertaken by colleagues and civilians in memory of Garda Robbie McCallion (29), and Garda Gary McLoughlin (24), who died in Co Donegal. The cycle will take place from next Monday, September 6th, to Saturday, September 11th. Beaumont Hospital and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Dublin, are beneficiaries.

Mail stolen twice from postman
A postman had mail stolen from him twice in just eight days while carrying out his rounds in Shannon, Co Clare.
In the first incident on August 19th, a single bundle of mail was taken from a bag on his bicycle outside a house while he was delivering in the Árd na Gréine area. Gardaí were notified. At Rineanna View last Friday, a man in a high-visibility jacket approached and grabbed his mailbag before running away.
Carrig Lane and Carrig View residents were asked to inform An Post what mail may have been stolen.
