Man to be sentenced in April for stabbing attack over ex-girlfriend
A man will be sentenced next April at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for stabbing a man he found in bed with his ex-girlfriend. Leslie O’Brien (27), Lorcan O’Toole Park, Crumlin, pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to Dylan Fallon in an apartment on James’s Street on July 19th, 2009.
Judge Desmond Hogan said O’Brien was “lucky he wasn’t up on a more serious charge”. He agreed to put the matter back for a probation report and to let O’Brien organise compensation for his victim but he said he was not ruling out a custodial sentence. He remanded O’Brien on bail to appear again in April and ordered the preparation of a victim impact report.
