There has to be "a dramatic and immediate change" in attitude by Iraqi President Saddam Hussein if war is to be avoided, British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw told the UN Security Council today.
Mr Straw said he still believed that war was not inevitable, but said Iraq had not demonstrated the requisite degree of co-operation to comply with council demands that it scrap its weapons of mass destruction.
UN weapons inspectors were having to operate in the face of "Iraq's failure fully and actively to comply with resolution 1441", Mr Straw added.
