Charlotte Amalie - Hurricane Lenny stalled in the north-eastern Caribbean yesterday, continuing its assault on islands battered by its 135 m.p.h. winds, raging seas and torrential rains.
US Virgin Islands officials had unconfirmed reports that four people died on St Croix on Wednesday. There are also reports of a man killed on St Maarten and a man missing on St Kitts.
At 3 p.m. Irish time yesterday, Lenny was nearly stationary about 35 miles west-sout-hwest of St Maarten, the US National Hurricane Centre in Miami said.
