Mr John Leahy, a leading Tipperary hurler, has been remanded on bail by Manchester Magistrates Court following an incident in a hotel there last weekend.
The court was told that Mr Leahy was involved in a fracas in which another man was wounded. It was alleged that, Mr Leahy threw a beer glass into the man's face.
The court ordered that the hurling star must live in a probation hotel in Manchester, until his court appearance on March 16th. He must also report to Manchester police, three times a week.
This means that Mr Leahy, will not be able to take part in the concluding stages of the Hurling League - including the vital game against Cork on February 18th.
