Hunger, and The Tudors, swept the Irish Film and Television Awards (Ifta) with both productions taking six prizes each in Dublin last night.
Hunger,based on the death of Bobby Sands in the 1981 hunger-strike at the Maze prison, picked up gongs for best film, best actor (Michael Fassbender), best supporting actor (Liam Cunningham), best original score, best production design and best sound.
Actor Michael Fassbender was also presented with the Irish Film Board Rising Star Award.
The Tudors, a colourful television series about the life of Henry VIII, won awards for best drama series or soap, best series director, best supporting actor and actress for television (Peter O'Toole and Maria Doyle Kennedy), bets costume design and best makeup and hair.
Kissesdirector Lance Daly picked up the best director award while Martin McDonagh won best script for In Bruges. The film also received the Ifta for Best International Film.
George Morrison won a lifetime achievement award.
