Outspoken county councillor Frank McBrearty has criticised the Health Service Executive (HSE) for employing a number of people who were among those criticised by the Morris tribunal, which investigated corruption among some gardaí in the Donegal area.
Mr McBrearty demanded to know how the men in question were declared fit to work with vulnerable adults by the Garda vetting unit, at the end of a meeting of the Donegal County Joint Policing Committee.
Mr McBrearty told Chief Supt Terry McGinn he would raise the matter with the HSE – she said she would speak to him privately afterwards.
