The trial of three men accused of having explosives last January was adjourned until June by the Special Criminal Court yesterday because one of the three judges at the non-jury court had taken ill.

Mr Justice Morris, presiding, adjourned the trial until June 2nd after he told lawyers that one of the members of the court was ill.

Mr Eamonn Flanagan (43), a native of Co Tyrone, with an address at The Square, Skerries, and Mr Seamus McLoughlin (67), of Balkill Park, Howth, have pleaded not guilty to possession of an explosive substance with intent to endanger life or to enable another person to do so at West Pier, Howth, Co Dublin, on January 5th last year.

Mr Joseph Dillon (53), of Greenlawns, Skerries, who is public relations officer for the 32-County Sovereignty Movement, has pleaded not guilty to possession of an explosive substance with intent to endanger life or to enable another person to do so at Windswept, Golf Links Road, Bettystown, Co Meath, on January 5th last year.
