Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is hoping home advantage can carry his in-form side into next season's Champions League.
The former France manager's team stand on the threshold of a place in Europe's top club competition next year after moving into third place in the Premiership during the week.
They face home matches against Newcastle and Chelsea at Anfield within four days of each other, and Houllier believes the two matches will be crucial.
Liverpool need to remain in the top three for a place in the Champions League.
"I think these next two home games will be absolutely vital for us and what we want to achieve," Houllier said.
"I don't want to talk about Arsenal and Leeds on Saturday, it's down to us, nobody else.
"After the Newcastle and Chelsea games, then we will see where we really are. These are two home games and they are crucial to us.
"The boys know exactly what is at stake at the moment. Every game is a cup final - and we still have two real ones to go."
Liverpool appear to have hit form at just the right time, with five victories on the trot. Victory over Newcastle on tomorrow will improve on their best run of the season.
They are also looking for revenge against one of only 10 sides to have beaten them in either domestic or European competition this term.
