When Goffs held a lunch on Tuesday to present their Irish Racing Personality Award and launch the new edition of the Irish Racing Annual, all the bluebloods of the racing circuit were there. Of course trainer Aidan O'Brien came along to accept his award, but so did some important owners whose winners are bred by Aidan: J.P. and Noreen McManus and Seamus and Trish Burns.
The other notable feature at Goffs was the number of high profile women breeders there, including Sonya Jorgensen of the Airlie stud; Pat O'Kelly, whose Second Empire was trained by Aidan and is hotly tipped for the Irish Derby; Emer Mulhearn, and Averil Whitehead, who bred the Irish National Stud star stallion, Indian Ridge.
