The lowest bid tendered for the upgrading of James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, Dublin, was reportedly €11 million more than the estimate by the design team, according to Mr Joe Higgins (SP, Dublin West). The Minister for Health, Mr Martin, said the options available to the Eastern Regional Health Authority were being examined "in the light of the lowest tender received".
