Shane Horgan picked up another ankle injury during training which is almost certain to keep the Leinster and Ireland winger out of the World Cup qualifier against Romania.
On a more positive note, it was not the same injured ankle which sidelined the 23-year-old for most of last season. Horgan will undergo a further medical in Dublin later today and is hoped to be out for no more than 2-3 weeks.
While Ireland’s opening World Cup qualifier against Romania at Thomond Park on Saturday, September 7th will come too soon, the Droghedaman should be fit for the qualifiers against Russia and Georgia on September 21st and 28th respectively.
