The All-Ireland hurling champions were welcomed home by thousands of supporters this evening.
Celebrations are firmly underway in Cork, a spokesman for the All-Ireland hurling champions told Ireland.com, where fans are celebrating their first senior hurling victory since 1999.
"Many thousands" have crowded the streets in to give the side an "unbelievable" welcome home, he said.
Supporters met the team at the train station and escorted them into the city centre singing "Banks of the Lee" and waving rebel flags.
The Cork seniors stopped for an hour at Mallow station to sign autographs and talk with fans before moving on to Cork City.
A reception oustide the Imperial Hotel awaits the Liam McCarthy Cup holders.
The reception will include speeches by dignitaries and members of the team and management followed by the introduction of the panel by team captain Ben O'Connor.
