A series of improvements as part of Dublin’s Heuston Station €117 million revamp will be unveiled by Iarnród Éireann next month.
Three new platforms will be built as well as an extension to an existing platform and a new signalling system.
The station will be closed from Friday night, August 30th until the following Sunday afternoon to allow final touches to be made to the new facilities.
The rail company hopes that only 20 per cent of those using the station over the weekend will be affected by the closure.
Four of the older existing platforms will then be closed to allow resurfacing and extensions.
A temporary concourse will be used while a larger on is built to incorporate the new platforms.
Passengers are advised to contact Iarnród Éireann before travelling to check for disruptions.
