Gardai seized about 20 oz of heroin with a street value of £400,000 following a surveillance operation at Croftwood Park, Ballyfermot, Dublin, shortly before 9 p.m. last night. A man in his late teens was arrested and held overnight for questioning in Ballyfermot Garda station, according to the Garda press office.
A garda source said that the movements of people near waste ground in the park was monitored following a tip off. The operation was part of an "ongoing investigation". It is thought that the entire consignment of the drug was seized shortly after it was moved into the area and before dealers had an opportunity to divide it into smaller packages for sale.
