A Dublin man has been jailed for eight years for selling heroin worth £600. Judge Kieran O'Connor told the defendant, Karl Smith, he needed to get a grip on his life and he would be freed in October 2000 if he stayed off drugs and took an education course in prison.
Smith (25), of Sillogue Avenue, Ballymun, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to supplying heroin on dates in April and June of last year. He was on bail when he committed the second offence.
