A 31 year old midlands farmer has been awarded £290,000 by the Hepatitis C Compensation Tribunal. He received a contaminated blood factor product in 1979. Mr Hayden, the man's told the tribunal his client, married without children, was virus positive, symptoms were affecting his work.

A south Dublin unemployed marketing executive accepted a £50,000 provisional award which means he can seek further compensation should his symptoms worsen.
