PADRAIG SHEEHAN
Currently Studying At: Mallow College of Art and Design.
CV: Won the student designer category at the Late, Late Show fashion awards in 1995 and was a finalist in the Smirnoff international fashion awards for the past two years. Student of the year in Mallow College for his first and second years.
Strengths: Specialises in individual pieces of character using luxury fabrics.
Ambition: Plans to go to London after graduation to gain further experience in the fashion industry, preferably working with an established designer.
EVA REGAN
Currently Studying At: Grafton Academy of Dress Designing.
CV: Selected to represent the Graft on Academy at last year's Taispeantas na Sionainne in Athlone and exhibited her streetwear collection at the last Knitting & Stitching Show in the RDS. Came second in the recent Hudson Blue clubwear fashion competition.
Strengths: A strong use of colour and sense of street style for youthful, casual clothing.
Ambition: Expects to graduate at the end of this year and then move to the United States and work with a casualwear label before eventually starting her own business.
DANNY KEARNS
Currently Studying At: National College of Art and Design.
CV: Twice a finalist in the Smirnoff international fashion awards, he has also won the 1996 NCAD staff prize, the same year's Leonora Curry bursary and a FAS placement award which was used to work with John Rocha.
Strengths: Exceptional tailoring skills and original cutting techniques developed for menswear.
Ambition: Graduating this summer, he goes to London's Royal College of Art in September to research interface design. Hopes to set up his own label.
ELAINE CURTIS
Currently Studying At: Limerick School of Art & Design.
CV: Won the award for best collection at last year's RTE Shannon Design Show as well as two graduate designer awards in 1996, and the Lconora Curry bursary and Satzenbrau young designer of the year award in 1994.
Strengths: A refreshing and imaginative approach to knitwear combined with commercial flair.
Ambition: Now finishing a postgraduate enterprise development course in Limerick, she has already sold her first collection (for next autumn/winter) to a number of Irish outlets including the Design Centre and Havana in Donnybrook. An ambition already realised.
GRETCHEN MONE
Currently Studying At: Cork College of Fashion.
CV: Worked as an apprentice cutter for three years after leaving school in Co Armagh. Now completing her two year diploma at Cork College. Was a finalist at this year's Smirnoff international fashion awards.
Strengths: Diverse skills but particularly tailoring. She expresses admiration for Gianni Versace, John Galliano and Alexander McQueen.
Ambition: Intends to go to London to study for a degree in London, specialising in fashion and textile design.
