Campaign for better health in Co Clare
Mountaineer Pat Falvey will give a public talk on Wednesday, October 8th in the Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis, Co Clare as part of Clare Mental Health Week.
In his talk, he will discuss the importance of making changes and commitment while conquering fears, taking risks, learning trust and applying positive self-affirmation.
Clare Mental Health week is part of a three-week campaign which began yesterday to make Clare a healthier place.
The campaign will encourage people to have their blood pressure and cholesterol levels checked, to get physically active and improve their mental health. Tel: 065 6865847 for more details.
The medicine of good food
Let food be your medicine is the theme of a seminar on Saturday from 1pm-5.30pm in the Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny City.
Speakers include Nigel Griffith, kinesiologist and founder of the Nature's Way health stores.

Memory walks in aid of Age Action
People of all ages, particularly older people, are encouraged to join friends and family members on the so-called memory walks on Sunday in Dublin and Galway.
The walks, which take place in Cabinteely Park, Co Dublin, 11am-3pm, and Terryland Forest Park, Galway, 11am-2pm, will raise funds for Age Action Ireland.
The walks are sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care, a business which provides non-medical in-home care to older people.

West Cork workshop
What Women Want is the theme of a workshop at the Passaddhi Meditation Centre, Adrigole, west Cork from October 3rd to 5th.
The weekend will explore the impact of the "wanting mind" in our daily life through sitting meditation, voice work, Tibetan healing yoga and the sharing of experience and wisdom.
