Order of Malta aims to keep summer safe
The Order of Malta is encouraging young people to train in first aid by joining an Order of Malta Cadet programme.
Conscious that about 40 per cent of accidents occur during the summer months, the first aid organisation is offering courses for €75 (normal cost €100-€120) to young people from now until October.

Little steps to healthy picnics
Little Steps Safefood (wwwlittlesteps.eu), the food safety promotion board’s website, has some new additions for the summer. These include ideas for healthy picnics (eg colourful slices of fruit and vegetables, wholegrain pitta bread with tuna, chicken or hummus, oatcakes with sliced cheese) and suggestions for outdoor games.
Adlerian summer course in Clonmel
The ninth annual Adlerian Summer School takes place in Loreto School, Clonmel, Co Tipperary from July 6th-9th.
The themes of this year’s courses are addictions, gender relationships, creative therapeutic interventions and an introduction the life work of Dr Alfred Adler, Austrian medical doctor and psychoanalyst.

Workshops on best selling book
Meditation teacher John Doherty will lead an exploration of The Power of Now, the best selling book by Eckhart Toole in two different venues next month.
The first is a weekend workshop on July 5th-6th in Cork city (booking on tel: 021-4278343) and the second is a day-long workshop in The Santuary, Dublin 7 (booking on tel: 01-6705419).
