Headstrong hosts mental health forum
Headstrong, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, is hosting a public forum entitled Young People's Health in Mindtomorrow at 6pm in the Exchange, 50 Gardiner St, Dublin 1. Speakers include Dr Pat McGorry, an Australian-based researcher on early intervention in youth mental health, Dr Tony Bates, founder of Headstrong, and Headstrong youth ambassador, Emma Farrell. www.headstrong.ie
Free yoga classes at Oscailt open day
The integrative health centre, Oscailt, is holding open days on Thursday and Friday from noon to 3pm in its premises on 8 Pembroke Road, Dublin 4. Education sessions in hospice care
The Irish Hospice Foundation is hosting educational sessions for nurses and other healthcare professionals who care for children with life-limiting conditions. Hypnobirth classes to ease labour fears
Learning how to deal with the fear of labour can be as valuable as learning how to cope with the pain itself. Hypnobirthing classes aim to help women cope better in labour by learning relaxation, self-hypnosis and breathing techniques. Hypnotherapist Aisling Killoran will lead a series of four hypnobirthing classes for couples, starting on Saturday in the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Co Dublin. The cost is €440 per couple. Coping with stress of unemployment
A free personal development workshop takes place next Tuesday at 7pm in the PCI College, Corrig House, Old Naas Road, Clondalkin, Dublin. The workshop is aimed at people who have experienced change in their lives due to the recession.
