Five-day workshop on "living foods2
Jill Swyers, a UK expert in so-called ‘living foods’, will lead a five-day residential workshop in Chrysalis Holistic Centre, Donard, Co Wicklow, from August 9th-14th.
The workshop will include practical tips on growing and using foods such as wheatgrass.
The workshop will also include sessions on movement, stretching and bodywork. It costs €585 and more information is available on www.chrysalis.ie
Grow your self awareness in a Mayo garden
A beautiful hidden garden on Achill Island, Co Mayo, is the venue for two weekends of creative journaling next month.
The two-day workshops, taking place on August 8th and 9th and on August 29th and 30th, will encourage participants to re-connect with themselves through exercises and guided meditations.
The cost of these is €100 per workshop.
Meditation walks will also be held in the garden (which was designed by its owner, Dutch artist Willem van Goor) on Sunday, August 2nd, 16th and 23rd. Admission is free.

Co Louth takes mature attitude to including the old
New sheltered housing units for older people were officially opened in Dundalk, Co Louth, yesterday.
The 37 self-contained apartments and bungalow units will be managed by Clúid, a housing association which already manages more than 3,200 properties across the State.
Facilities at the complex include a technology area and 24-hour emergency call system.
Co Louth is aiming to become the first older-person-friendly county in Ireland with specific aims to increase the participation of older people in social, cultural and economic life of the county.
Information pack for unmarried parents
A new information pack for unmarried parents has just been published by Treoir, the support group for such parents.
The pack includes information on guardianship, access, custody and financial issues following pregnancy.
