Katie Van Buren (24), presenter of Juiceon RTÉ 2
Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
I think I do. Health is something I’ve been very conscious of since my early teenage years. I did some cross-country running when I was younger, so I still kind of have that in me. I’m always very conscious of my food choices and I’d think about the benefits of what I was eating.
How often do you exercise?
I cycle to and from work every day and I’d run around a lot at work all day at shoots and stuff. At the weekends if I have time, I go for a little run, but every day I’m on my bike anyway.
Do you get your five a day?
Yes I do. I’ve unusual eating habits – I eat things in chunks. Quite often I have a whole plate of broccoli and greens and later in the day I eat my proteins and carbs. But I definitely would get my five a day. I’m a big fan of fruit as well.
Do you worry?
Yes, I do. I’ve worried since I was younger, I was a bit of a worrier in school. It’s something that I’m trying to work on. Everyone has things to work on and that would be something I have to work on. It’s not one thing in particular – it’s just general stuff.
What do you do to relax?
I listen to music a lot and I love watching movies, or I just go to a coffee shop with my friends. I live in Rathmines and there are some really good ones that stay open really late, so I just go there and chat with my friends or chill out and bring my laptop or whatever.
What is your unhealthiest habit?
I drink coffee every day, like one or two cups. I’d love to stop drinking it but I haven’t actually made a conscious effort to stop because I really enjoy it. And I have a scone obsession.
