- Global Emergency Care Skills (GECS) is a voluntary non-profit organisation which trains doctors and nurses in emergency care in countries with developing healthcare systems. Founded by Dr Jean O'Sullivan, consultant in Emergency Medicine at Tallaght hospital, the organisation has trained hospital doctors in Kenya and Zambia to date. A fundraising ball for GECS will be held in Bunratty Castle Hotel on April 17th. Booking on tel: 061 478700.

- Life coach Valerie Watson will give two support days for Leaving Certificate students in the coming weeks. In the classes, she will teach basic relaxation and meditation techniques as well as calming breath work and positive visualisations. The classes will be held in Whitefriar Centre, Aungier St, Dublin 2 on Wednesday, April 7 and in Oscailt Integrative Health Centre, 8 Pembroke Road, Dublin 4 on Saturday, April 10. - Banish the Credit Crunch Blues is the theme of a free eight- week meditation programme. An introduction to the Sahaja Yoga meditation course will take place at 4pm on Sunday, April 11th at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8. See sahajayoga.ie
