Chronic disease and prediction of disease risk will be explored tomorrow from 7pm-9pm in the first of the latest series of Mini Med public lectures in the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (RCSI), St Stephen's Green, Dublin. The speakers are Prof Susan Smith, department of general practice at the RCSI and Inchicore Medical Centre, and Prof Ronan Conroy, population health sciences division, RCSI. See rcsi.ie/minimed

A workshop on developing a mindfulness curriculum for schools will be held in the Wood Quay Venue, Dublin, on Saturday from 10am-4pm. Cost €85 (including lunch). See sanctuary.ie

The Coombe hospital will mark International Women’s Day with a celebration of Irish poetry in the hospital’s education centre on Thursday, March 8th, at 7.30pm.
