HAPPY Heart pins will be on sale from Thursday until Sunday as part of the Irish Heart Foundation's fundraising "Happy Heart at Work" campaign. The foundation is encouraging companies to adopt action plans designed to improve stress control in the workplace, employees eating and exercise habits, and general awareness of any lifestyle behaviours that contribute to the development of heart disease.

KNOCKCREE Garden, Glenamuck Road, Carrickmines, Dublin is being opened to the public by John and Shirley Beatty next Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in aid of the Irish Raynaud's and Scleroderma Society. The spring/summer garden, which has been featured on UTV and Channel 4, is dominated by a dramatic outcrop of granite around which an extensive collection of rhododendrons, hardy geraniums, aquilegias, ferns and many other plants of interest are grown. Entry including tea is £4.

"THE Spirit of Dance" is an experimental workshop next Saturday which aims to help explore the mind/body connections through natural basic rhythms. It is the first in a series of one day workshops organised by Dorothy Fisher and Sabine Louis which grew from their skills and experience gained through teaching, psychology and yoga into using music, rhythm, movement, poetry, the breath and the voice to express the inner self. The day runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in St Brigid's Parish Centre, Stillorgan, Co Dublin, and costs £25. Details on (01) 6689237.

ACTION for Mobility (AFM) is a voluntary group working for the integration of people with and without disabilities into the social, cultural and economic life of the community. The group, now 10 years in existence, is planning a varied programme of activities to celebrate this special year, including weekends away, regular outings to the cinema, pubs, concerts and bowling. All members are encouraged to become involved in organising events and club meetings are held monthly in the Mount Street Club (near the Davenport Hotel), Fenian Street, Dublin 2. THE PBC Foundation will hold its first meeting on Thursday, May 22nd for those suffering from primary billary cirrhosis and their families in the Carmichael Lecture Theatre, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Dr Frank Murray will give a talk on PBC which is a disease of the liver which has no known cause and no cure as yet, but is the main reason for liver transplants in Europe.
