Hauliers are to boycott Dublin's South Quay terminal today and tomorrow in protest at the refusal of freight companies to extend opening hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This follows the breakdown of talks last night.
Services in the Alexandra Basin and on the North Wall will not be affected. The main reason for the refusal to extend opening hours is a failure to reach agreement on overtime rates with SIPTU, which represents the dockers in the South Quay terminal.
